Wanderlust & Pixie Dust

Who loves Vintage? I DO, I DO!
Featured etsy artist of the day is Wanderlust & Pixie Dust.
http://wanderlustNpixiedust.etsy.com

This vintage reindeer is so fantastic! I don't know what it is, but Christmas time is the time of the year when you can bust out all kinds of cook vintage holiday items. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Doesn't this reindeer seem like a precious item that your grandmother once owned?

The person invoved with Wanderlust & Pixie Dust loves antiques and vintage everything. (If you couldn't tell, she's got great taste.) Clothing, jewelry, linens, textiles, anything beveled, books, ephemera, you name it. The older the better. That's the attitude! Also in her spare time she likes to dabble in all things crafty.

This item is also one of my favorites on the site. These vintage flower pins would look awesome on your navy winter pea coat this season. You would be the envy of all your friends!

And last but not least, let's not forget about Jesus. True meaning of Christmas for all you Christians out there. :) This handkerchief is also a vintage item in her shop. This unique item is from "Tokyo Japan 1949 with a hand painted portrait of Jesus on off white silk. Great for all the hanky collectors out there.

Personal Treasures

Featured etsy artist of the day, Personal Treasures. http://personaltreasures.etsy.com

She said it, this picture is of the Loooooooooong Hessonite Stripe Necklace. This piece of work consissts of Variegated bands of Hessonite, Blue Fluorite, and African and Dendritic Opal (I love opal, it's my birth stone. Trivia of the day.), set off with vermeil spacer beads, with a vermeil hook clasp for closure, make a striking statement.

This ncklace measures 35 1/2 inches including the clasp. HOLY NECKLACE BATMAN!

I really love these Bali Silver Spheres Earrings.
The richly patterned earrings will make you feel so posh. The Bali beads are oxidized to a gunmetal grey with their very finely detailed patterns polished to shine. BEAUTIFUL!

Phyllis Mufson, is the jewelry artisan and involved in a creative career and a small business coach. She started making jewelry while directing the Locks Career Center at Moore College of Art & Design, an inspiring environment where she worked with wonderfully creative people.

Now she work in my sunny living room where she talk with clients and have all of her jewelry equipment close at hand. How nice.

Check out her store for more beautiful designs.

Backwoods Creations!

Etsy artist of the day is Backwoods Creations. http://Backwoodscreations.etsy.com

I have a thing for birds. This image that I found in Backwoods Creations is one of the greatest things you can do with fabric. Make a sculpture! I really enjoy the patterned fabric and the wired legs to finish off the sparrow figure.

Along with the bird theme is this creative and colorful bird in a cage fabric sculpture. A bead fringed bird cage complete with its own little birdie on a swing. It has a funky Victorian feel to it. This colorful creating is perfect for the eclectic person out there.

The great thing about this etsy artist is she is a member of Etsy for Animals (EFA) please look for items that will have a percentage listed in item description donated to the specified charity of the month.

That will make the birds SING!!

I'm not much of a cat fan, but this cat sculpture is pretty fun. And who else would pair up best with all the bird sculptures. This is one of many cat creatitions and it has a wonderful folk art style to it. I enjoy it's teal eyes and imperfect figure. It oozes with charm and character.

Kala

I cannot put this in any other words, but isn't this image freak'n flipp'n awesome! Wow!

Featured etsy artist of the day is the talented Kala. http://kala.etsy.com

Karen is a mixed media artist from Cambridge in the UK and specializes in stationery, and fantastic work in collage, illustration and textiles. She has a little of everything.

I really love collage work. I think it shows true talent to take elements and bits of pieces for a collections of things and place them together to make a wonderful, harmonious piece of work.

I love the combination of traditional illustration and patterned pieces. This is a really great find to have in your place.

And lets not forget the wonderful stationery work.

I just LOVE (all caps means businesses) handmade sketchbooks and journals.

This accordion style book is made from artists quality 300gsm bockinford watercolour paper, covered with sumptuous flocked decorative paper and finished with a lilac coloured leather tie and indian glass beads to hold it all together.

I don't know what all of that means, but one thing is for sure, this item is beautifully put together and a high quality product.

Karen is extremely talented with her illustrations.

You can find more artwork, prints and cards, crafts and jewelery can be found in her new shop opening soon http://upwiththelark.etsy.com/

Cute as a button!

Featured etsy artist of the day is Ulixis! http://ulixis.etsy.com

I really like this button bracelet. It has wonderful earth tones that accessories well with the autumn season. The center button is a vintage, one of a kind (OOAK) gold-tone metal. The dangle, found near the clasp (from Etsy shop ArtfulMarket) consists of: a taupe faceted bead; a gold cloisonnes bead surrounded by 2 gold beads; and various seed beads and a tube bead in different tones of orange.

A nice contrast to the warm autumn bracelet is this beautiful aqua bracelet, necklace set. She uses five different types of beads to catch the light in beautiful ways.

The person behind all of this creation is 21 year old Amanda who grew up in the Northern Ontario. Canada ay!

Amanda has been crafty her whole life, and enjoys making a variety of things. Her main focus is on notebooks and jewelry. However she also enjoys cooking, reading, writing and problem solving.

Problem solving??

Check out this notebook she made. What will she make next?

Attention Chic Mommies and Pampered Babies

This post goes out to all the hott mama's out there and to my boss Kelly who is expecting.
My featured etsy artist of the day is Elle Belle. http://ellebelleonetsy.etsy.com

This is by far my favorite piece in Elle Belle's shop. Thee best thing to do with your pillow cases, make an adorable little girl dress!
Isn't this this greatest thing. These versatile dresses are perfect for any season. Wear alone on warm days or with a shirt underneath when it's cooler. Great for matching sister dresses!

I also find this baby sling to be a must have for chic mamas. The aqua and brown stipe is very trendy. And she has a pink one coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled.

Elle Belle rings sling are different than most sling you'll find on the market. She make them with less material so that they're not hot, bulky, or hanging down to your ankles, the pleated shoulder helps the fabric spread out across your shoulder and back which distributes baby's weight more evenly, and the light weight aluminum rings are made specifically for slings, they've been tested to hold up to 200 lbs (don't try that at home!). You'll receive a set of instructions on how to use the sling to carry your baby in 5 different positions and my email address if you need some one on one help.

Now this girl knows what she's doing.

Side Note

I was reading one of my favorite bloggers, Taryn Hipp. She was commenting on how much she loves Matt Skibba from Alkaline trio and I just had to post a fun video from them.

Studio Macy

Oh this artist is going to be fun to feature.
Macy Lamberson is the creative person behind Studio Macy. http://studiomacy.etsy.com

Macy is a glass artist who loves making people smile through my whimsical beads and sculptures. Her line of work is also quite dangerous. To make these cute little creations she works with a 2000 degree touch! That's pretty powerful stuff.

Each of her glass pieces has their own personality and name. It creates more of a connection for the person who buys a piece.

Let's meet Maitland. For all you gnome lovers out there this is a must have. This is Maitland. HIs name means "dweller in the meadow". Unfortunately, Maitland has been doing a touch too much of that and has developed a bad case of wanderlust. He's a member of that traveling gnome family, but part of the not famous branch.

And if you're trying to find the perfect bead as a focal point for your necklace, this could be your find. Simple black and white flower with a swirl center. "Black petals!" you say, yes it is very Mortisha Adams, however it's such a beautiful form and fitting bead work for that little black dress you wear to special occasions.

And don't forget about the fun Holiday items. Doesn't this piece just put you in the holiday spirit. :)

Mommy and Me Boutique.

No these are not your mothers aprons!

Featured Artist of the day is etsy's Mommy and me Boutique.
Cute and adorable. Designer fabrics, beautiful trims and ribbons galore!

Now when you cook in the kitchen you don't have to look like a frumpy lunch lady. With these aprons you can look like the sexy little chef you are inside. Not only will you cook delicious food for your family or guests, but you can absolutly look adorable doing so.

I love the black and pink polka dots for an apron. How fun and Victoria Secret like is that! With the holidays around the corner, this apron is also perfect for your classic New Years Party.

This sassy little apron is also one of my favorites. It's so cute it almost looks like a designer dress. The cut of the apron makes it so feminine and figure fitting.

Aprons for adults and children are my specialty. Whether it be cooking or entertaining, these aprons are designed for today's mother and child to show off their own sense of style.

Fashionably Large

My featured etsy artist of the day is the lovely Entyqua/Becki's Designs.
http://entyqua.etsy.com

Becki's pieces are so stunning, I love her combination of victorian and modern style throughout her shop.

I absolutely love this victorian locket, very classic, timeless, and chic. The picture is also stunning and creative. I love how she juxtaposes her work with vintage items.

I love Becki's attitude about jewlery, it's right up my alley.
Most of her pieces are made larger than the norm because she herself cant wear any necklace under 18". And bracelets are around 7-8. FASHIONABLY LARGE I say!

I also find this chunky necklace to be fun to wear.

My absolute favorite item in Entyqua is these fantastic earings.

The combination of the nature/leaf work with geometric circle is just my kind of thing. It's classy yet mod. And the punch of red will really accent well with a cute outfit for a night out on the town. Who wouldn't stop you and say "where did you get those earings?"

The Bearer of Gifts

Giftbearer on etsy offers more than just gifts. This artist offers help amongst peers, the art world and creations that speak volumes. Read her profile to get a full understanding. http://Giftbearer.etsy.com

Giftbearer is owned and operated by jewelry artist Pippit Carlington. Doesn't that name just roll right off your tounge nicely.

She specializes in high-end indigenous jewelry drawing inspiration from nature and a variety of cultures close to the earth.

I find this pair of earings to be fitting for this upcoming season. This beautiful creation resembles the frosted branches of winter and how amazing nature truly is.

This piece of work also connects greatly to nature. This bracelet resembles natures wood grain creation and branch formation. I also love how this picture is taken almost in it's natural setting. Giftberer's creations feel like pieces of work that you would actually find on a stroll in the forest. What a wonderful accessory.

Green With Envy!

Feature artist of the day, the beautiful jewlery of That's Headley. http://thatsheadley.etsy.com

My favorite piece in the shop is the cute lil pea pod earings. If I wore them I'd looke like such a sweet pea. :) And this lil piece of work helps raise money for the Fisher House™ Foundation program recognizing the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

What a generous person!

And the pictures are just sooooo fantastic, clear, professional and lovely.

That's Headley! Jewelry Designs is about wearing your art with gemstones, wire, and glass. This artist incorporates a combination of color, texture, balance, and richness in their work. And the best part is that they have free shipping! Now that's a rare find in a vendor.

I'm such an earing fanatic. This jewlery is very tasteful and beautiful. They're also a great gift for this holiday season. There is nothing better than having a work of art dangling from your ears.

Earmark Invitations

My featured artist today is Earmark Invitations. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, (did I say fantastic) stationery. Just wonderful. http://earmark.etsy.com

Earmark strives to bring out the creativity and imagination in you with tasteful stationery. I too understand the obsession that happens with paper products and design. Earmark seems to suffer from the same pleasure. And mother nature gives them two thumbs up because their stationery is printed on recycled paper too!

And can I also say I hold a special place in my heart for offensive sayings combined with tasteful designs.

The photography of the products are also wonderful to look through. My favorite is the missing you card with the adorable dog. The image speaks volumes and is perfect for the card. Creative, love it.

Earmark without a doubt is my new favorite.

I'm challenging myself to blog for 90 days straight. Yes 90 days! Lots of action going to be happening. I'll be blogging each day about a featured etsy artist. There are so many fantastic people on etsy, it's going to be fun to discover them and put my two cents in as well.

Hey November

I'm kind of excited it's November. I like the brisk autumn breeze and wearing my new fall jacket. It also means it's getting closer to the holiday season. I keep thinking about having Thanksgiving at my apartment this year, however my apartment is teenie tiny and it's be really funny for me to cook a thanksgiving meal. But I kind of want to be up for the challenge and offer something nice for my family. So we'll see what happens.

Oh and I think I'm getting an itch to create more cards and tags....more to come, keep your eyes peeled.
I'm also going to be involved in a craft show at Kelly's church on November 17th. It's going to be great.
